Coleman, Jack Kimsey (Old Fort)

Jack Kimsey Coleman, 77, of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his home.  A native of Murphy, NC, he was born June 4, 1941 to the late Charles and Mary Coleman.  Jack graduated from Murphy High School in 1959 and received a BS degree from North Carolina State University, School of Forestry in Raleigh in 1965.  He retired in 1998.

Jack was a member of Masonic Lodge #672 of Robbinsville, NC and a 37-year member of First Baptist Church of Benton and member of Gideon’s International. 

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Coleman McCurry, who died December 28, 2016.   

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sue Webster Coleman and twin sisters, Marilyn (Jerry) Hartness and Mildred (Richard) Pullium, both of Murphy, NC.  He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.   

Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 at First Baptist Church of Benton, with Dr. Robbie Speights officiating.  Interment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens, Murphy, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Activity Building, Benton, TN 37307. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at the church,prior to the service.
