Bates, Della Kennedy (Dalton)

Della Kennedy Bates, age 87, of Dalton, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at her residence. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bates. 

Survivors include her sons, Ronald Bates of Dalton, and Jeff Bates of Conyers; sisters, Barbara McCroskey of Ringgold and Betty Jo Cross of Dalton; brother, James “Bear” Kennedy; granddaughter, Amanda Bates of Atlanta; and special friends, Lynda Wilson and Barbara Richard, and Beverly Young. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Homestead Hospice for their loving kindness, and care for Mrs. Bates. 

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Richmond officiating. 

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 24, from 5-8 p.m. 

Flowers will be accepted, or contributions can be made to a favorite charity in her memory.
