  • Thursday, January 10, 2019

Two women were found dead on Thursday morning in a Dalton home. They were identified as Judy Potts, 72, and her daughter, Krystal Spainhour, 44.

Michael Brandon Townsend has been arrested for the murders.

The women were found at 234 Tanglewood Drive, and had blunt force trauma injuries as well as possible stab wounds.

Townsend, in a 911 call, said, "I'm unarmed. And I'm not irate.

I lost my mind earlier." He said he choked both women.

The dispatcher asked him, "Are they (the victims) related to you somehow?" Townsend responded, "No ma'am, but they're like my family."

The dispatcher asked, "What made you want to hurt them?" He replied, "Honestly I can't even remember what she said....She said something to me and I just lost my mind."
