First Round Of Heavy Rain May Lead To Flooding

The first round of a week of showers and heavy rain may cause flooding in the Chattanooga area. The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement that is effect through Monday morning. Man Found Dead In McMinn County After Going After Woman Who Had Used Meth, Then Wandered Into Water

A man was found dead in McMinn County early Sunday morning in water near his home. Authorities said a woman who was doing meth at the residence on County Road 788 first wandered out into the water. The man then went out after her. He was later found unresponsive. The woman was rescued from the water and taken to a hospital to be checked out. (click for more)

Questions About TVA And Controlling Water Levels - And Response

So in 2003 Chattanooga and Marion County and more people below Chickamauga Dam suffered a 100 year flood because TVA had not prepared for the amount of rain that fell. Since then up until 2018 they have done a great job with controlling the flooding problems.
