Alicia Nazario, 23, Killed In Accident Friday Morning On Shallowford Road; 3 Others Injured

Alicia Wright Nazario, 23, was killed, and three others were injured in an accident Friday morning on Shallowford Road.
 
At approximately 6:23 a.m., the Chattanooga Police Department's Traffic Unit responded to 7250 Shallowford Road in regard to a crash involving a fatality.
 
A Lincoln Town Car, driven by Ms. Nazario, was exiting I-75 north onto Shallowford Road east.
 
Based on roadway evidence and video from the CARTA Bus, the Lincoln was out of control and fishtailed into the front of the CARTA Bus as it was traveling west on Shallowford Road.
The Lincoln struck the front of the bus.
 
Ms. Nazario was unrestrained and was pronounced deceased by Hamilton County EMS on scene. A juvenile passenger was restrained in a car seat and was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
 
The driver of the CARTA Bus, Erica Mayweather, 48, and a passenger from the bus were also transported by Hamilton County EMS for minor injuries.
