Anthony Vance
Anthony Vance, who authorities said raped a woman while on probation for raping another, has been sentenced to 35 years in state prison.
Vance, 56, was found guilty of rape by a Criminal Court jury on Aug. 29.
Assistant District Attorney Andrew Coyle said Vance was a Range 3 Persistent Offender, with 67 convictions for misdemeanors and felonies.
Judge Don Poole said there were a number of enhancing factors that supported giving Vance a stiff sentence. He then sentenced Vance to serve the 10-year term for the previous rape, because he violated conditions of his parole.
Consecutive to that sentence, Judge Poole sentenced Vance to serve 25 years in prison, at 100 percent.
Assistant District Attorney Miriam Johnson was the lead prosecutor for the most recent rape case.
