Mahindra Donates ROXOR Off-Road Vehicle To Austin Hatcher Foundation

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer has added another set of wheels to its collection of therapy vehicles. After the recent theft of two therapy vehicles in October, the foundation received an incredible response from the automotive community. One partner to step up and aid in the foundation’s recovery is Mahindra Automotive North America.

The newly-donated ROXOR off-road vehicle was unveiled on Dec. 18, at the Austin Hatcher Foundation’s Education Advancement Center. MANA’s Service Aftersales Director and Sales Administrative Director Justin Prann and Vice President of Marketing Richard Ansel presented the ROXOR to foundation staff members President Amy Jo Osborn and Director of Industrial Arts Jonathan Myren.

“This is such a special opportunity for our patients to work on a unique type of therapy vehicle,” said Austin Hatcher Foundation President Amy Jo Osborn. “We’ve never had an off-road vehicle like the ROXOR, and it’s going to provide incredible new learning opportunities for our children. We’re extremely grateful to Mahindra for hearing our story and being so energized to make a difference for the families we serve.”

ROXOR/Mahindra Automotive North America is a subsidiary of The Mahindra Group, based in Mumbai, India, that designs and delivers original, high-quality vehicle platforms across continents and market sectors. Mahindra Automotive North America is the first automotive OEM to set up manufacturing in Southeast Michigan in more than 25 years.

The ROXOR is an off-road workhorse built on a steel frame and body with nearly unlimited potential for customization. This makes it an excellent fit for the foundation’s industrial arts therapy program, which allows pediatric cancer patients and their family members to outfit stock vehicles with new parts while learning valuable life skills, practicing occupational therapy, and bond with family and friends. Once the patients and families complete the modifications and thematic styling, the ROXOR will be consigned to be auctioned to raise the much-needed funds that allow the foundation to continue offering all therapies and services at no cost to patients.
