At the Residence Inn on Center Street, the housekeeping manager said an unknown male (believed to be homeless) locked himself in a room that had been assigned to be cleaned and took a shower. She confronted the man as he exited the room and she said he became hostile by cursing until another male co-worker stepped in between them. She said as she was calling the police the man ran off on foot towards Lee Highway. He was described as a white male, approximately 30 years of age, wearing navy-colored jogging pants, a black T-shirt, and carrying a black backpack.

Officers came to referee a dispute between two people at a gas station on Brainerd Road. Police met with Robin Yates and Gary Ball who were in a verbal disorder with each other. Ms. Yates stated that Mr. Ball was attempting to pull into a gas pump at this location when he came very close to her vehicle. Ms. Yates said she was attempting to get Mr. Ball's attention when he became angry and began yelling at her. The two parties decided to part ways once it was determined the altercation was over a misunderstanding.

While on routine patrol at 873 Market St., an officer made contact with a Mr. Johnson. He was setting up camp on a public bench, with trash and personal belongings strewn throughout the area. He was given a verbal warning about littering and loitering and released after being frisked.

A woman on Slayton Avenue said she let her father in her home to use her shower. The father, Wiltha Brown, then fell asleep on her couch and would not leave. Police woke up Brown and told him to leave and not come back. He then departed.

A woman said she was traveling on N. Terrace in the middle lane when she saw a pothole. She said she tried to avoid it but was unable to and wound up with a busted tire. She said she pulled over and had to change the tire. She said the rim was bent and the tire was blown causing $500 worth of damage to the tire and rim. No injuries were reported and the woman was able to put a spare tire on in the meantime. She said she did call 311 about the pothole.

The operator of a semi said he had just picked up some items for transport from Pep Boys on Gunbarrel Road and was trying to leave the parking lot when the back of his trailer made contact with one of the light poles bringing it down. When the light pole fell it struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot that had been serviced at Pep Boys. The driver said the lights had not been on and he was not able to see the pole being on the blind side of his semi.

An Hispanic man said his vehicle was left running and the doors were unlocked in the parking lot of Waffle House. An officer observed video from the business' surveillance cameras that shows a white male, wearing a camouflage jacket and red shorts with a black stripe on the sides, exit the restaurant and get into the victim's vehicle. The suspect then drove east on E. 23rd Street and it is unknown where he went after. The vehicle's description was bolo'd city wide and the vehicle was entered into NCIC.

An officer was traveling at 520 Highway 153 South when he observed a blue truck (also traveling south) with sparks appearing from under the truck bed. He observed the rear of the vehicle catch fire as the driver pulled to the right shoulder of the road. The driver exited the vehicle as it became fully engulfed. The officer notified Chattanooga Dispatch and Chattanooga Fire as well as TDOT. The driver said he had been traveling south on Highway 153 when he heard a loud bang. He requested Gudel's Wrecker who came and towed the vehicle.
