Firefighters Respond To 2nd Fire In 3 Days At Couch's Barbecue

For the second time in three days, firefighters with the Chattanooga Fire Department and the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at Couch's Barbecue at 8307 Old Lee Highway. Battalion Chief David Thompson Jr. said they got the call shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
 
The firefighters located the fire in the smokehouse, and the flames were beginning to get into the roof. 

Chief Thompson said the firefighters got the fire out in less than five minutes.
No injuries were reported. The restaurant portion of the business was unaffected.
 
Chief Thompson said the fire caused minimal damage to the business.

Early Monday morning, firefighters put out a shed fire behind Couch's Barbecue. No one was injured.
 
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
