Soddy-Daisy won two games in the Hixson Invitational on Saturday, beating Gwinnett, 7-1, on Chris Branam’s no-hitter and knocking off Franklin County, 6-2, on a three-hitter by Landon Maynor.
Harrison Travis was an offensive sparkplug in both games with a 3-for-4 effort and three RBIs in the opener and two homers in the second game.
In a three-run fourth against Gwinnett, Spencer Gore doubled and Maynor and Jacob Jennings each drew walks to load the bases.
Travis then delivered a two-run single. Hayden Maynor’s sacrifice fly scored Jennings.
Branam threw a complete game over six innings and gave up an unearned run. He struck out three and walked two.
Jennings had two hits, two walks and scored three runs.
In the second game, the Trojans scored four runs in the first inning.
Gore reached safely on an outfield error and wound up at third base on the play. Gore scored on Jennings’ infield groundout. Travis followed with his first homer of the game.
Hayden Maynor singled to left field and stole second base. Garrett Dent walked. Aaron Couch’s single to center pushed Maynor home and Noah Howard’s single to center scored Dent.
Travis again homered in the second inning. The Trojans’ final run came in the fourth when Gore belted a two-out homer.
Maynor went the distance and gave up three hits and two runs while striking out five and walking three.
East Hamilton 6, Signal Mountain 1: The Hurricanes (3-2) were led by Conner Thornburg’s 3 for 4 day at the plate. He drove in a run, scored three times and stole three bases.
Will Campbell drove in two runs and Bradley Garland and Blake Hedrick each had a hit and an RBI.
Walker O'Rear pitched three scoreless innings and picked up the win. He allowed two hits, struck out three and walked one.
Collins Poole drove in a run with a single for the Eagles (4-1).
Silverdale 3-5, CSAS 0-1: The Seahawks swept a double-header against CSAS.
In the first game, Houston Smith scattered two hits over five innings and struck out eight while picking up his first win since undergoing shoulder surgery last year.
Sawyer Junkins hit a home run and added a single for the Seahawks (4-0). Sebastian Hanks collected a double, an RBI-single and stole a base for Silverdale, which entertains McMinn Central in a double-header on Monday.

In the second game, sophomore Reese Blackiston threw a one-hitter over six innings for his first win of the young season. Blackiston struck out four and walked one.
Silverdale sophomore Evan Padgett collected two singles and scored twice. Connor Delashmitt singled home two runs.
Silverdale entertains McMinn Central in a double-header on Monday at 5 p.m.
