Jo Ann Jernigan, 87, of Red Bank, died on March 25, 2019.  

Jo Ann was born on Nov. 13, 1931, the daughter of Oscar and Teola Locke in Crossville, Tn. She was an active member of Red Bank Baptist Church, the neighborhood association, the Junior League, Bridge Club, VFW Post #1289 and was president of the Garden Club.  She will be remembered as being honest to a fault and a loving grandmother.  She made every holiday special by decorating on every occasion.  Jo Ann was an exceptional cook and entertainer, especially with her desserts.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Jernigan and son, Rick Jernigan.  

She leaves behind her daughters, Gale Hill of Hixson and Pamela (Harry) Porter of Texas, grandchildren, Brian Martin, Trevor Hill, Matt Hill, David (Kayla) Martin and Janna (Rob) Meyers, three great-grandchildren as well as a host of friends and extended family.  

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, from 5-7 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will then be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, officiated by Reverend Bill Harvey at Lane Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hamilton Memorial Park.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Bank Baptist Church.
