Police have arrested a gang member on gun charges after tying him to a car used in several recent robberies.

Thomas Dewayne Sales, 21, of 1705 Wilcox Blvd., was charged with two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm as well as marijuana possession.

An officer said on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. he was passing by 1705 Wilcox when he saw a white Nissan Sentra with tinted windows and damage to the rear driver side door.

He gave chase while noting "this vehicle has been involved in several robberies over the past few days."

The officer said he lost the vehicle on Rossville Boulevard, but he returned to the Wilcox Boulevard residence with a search warrant. He found Sales inside. He said Sales had been convicted of aggravated burglary and facilitation of aggravated robbery.

He said Sales is a member of the 52 Bloodstone Villains.

The officer said it was found that Sales was living in the back of the residence. His identification was found along with some state paperwork with his name on it.

Police also found two loaded handguns.

A jar with 33.7 grams of marijuana was also located.
