Special Event Permits were approved at the City Beer Board meeting on Thursday for several affairs that will take place in April, including a special arrangement for beer to be provided to fans of the city's newest pro soccer team while it is playing at a Christian campus.
The Chattanooga Red Wolves Soccer Club is playing at Chattanooga Christian School’s field this year. Because alcoholic beverages will not be allowed to be sold from the concession stands, on April 6 from 5-9 p.m., the organization will set up a small beer garden on property nearby.
Temporary fence panels will be used to enclose a small area nearby at 3225 Broad Street where beer will be sold for an hour and a half before the match and a short time after it has ended. The location is 200 yards from the stadium so golf carts will be used to shuttle people from one site to the other. Brian Scott, representing the Red Wolves, said only one date was on the application because the event on April 6 will serve as a trial for future matches.
Hulla BOWL oo 2019 is a significant fundraiser for the Chattanooga Food Bank on April 27 from 6-10 p.m. Drinks and food by Black Tie Affair is included in the price of a ticket. The organizers expect around 700 people to attend the event that this year, has been moved to the Food Bank’s warehouse at 2009 Curtain Pole Road.
On April 27, from noon until 11:30 p.m., the third annual Spring Into Sculpture will be held at 1800 Polk St., at the Sculpture Fields at Montague Park. There will be live music, a childrens’ area, food trucks and beer and wine available. A sculpture burning will take place in the evening. IDs will be checked and wristbands issued. There also will be a drop off point in the park for Uber and Lyft due to limited parking. Organizers expect 700-800 people at any one time. Last year in a 10-hour period, over 6,000 came to the event.
The Chattanooga Film Festival will take place for the sixth year, April 11-14, from noon til 11 p.m. at 400 River St. by the Chattanooga Theatre Center. ABC certified bartenders will be serving beer from Chattanooga Brewing Company as well as liquor. Food vendors will be available. Tickets will be sold for individual films and badges will be sold for four-day passes.
