A worker at a home for those with developmental disabilities has been charged with hitting one of the clients with a belt.

Tyler L. Evans, 29, of 1006 Brynewood Park Road, was charged with exploitation of an adult.

The incident was Jan. 9, and there was a lengthy investigation with a number of witnesses interviewed.

An investigator said he observed red marks on the client's chin and other parts of his face as well as a long bruise on his left thigh.

Police said Evans, who was on duty at the residence on Igou Gap Road on the day of the alleged incident, did not respond to phone calls, but did give a written statement.
