Body Of 60-Year-Old Cookeville Man Found At Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail

The body of a 60-year-old Cookeville man was found Saturday morning at Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail off Highway 68.

At approximately 11:15 a.m., Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies and investigators were dispatched to the trail where hikers had discovered a white male lying face down on the trail.

It appeared that the body had been deceased for several days.

Sheriff’s investigators processed the scene and conducted an investigation. Tennessee State Park Rangers, and Cumberland County Rescue Squad assisted in the retrieval of the body.

The death appeared to be of natural causes, authorities said.

The deceased was identified as Tommy Woods, of Paran Road, Cookeville.
