The regularly scheduled meeting of the Chattanooga Beer Board on Thursday morning had to be postponed due to the lack of a quorum of members.
A full agenda consisting of applications for beer licenses for special events and businesses, as well as hearings on two violations of the Chattanooga beer code, had to be rescheduled for a time when a minimum of five members of the eight-member board can be present.
The board is made up of representatives from eight districts across the city who are appointed by their city council representative and approved by Mayor Andy Berke.
On Thursday morning just three members of the board were present, Chairman Ron Smith and Board Members Christopher Keene and Dan Mayfield.
Anyone involved in the application process and the violations hearings including event planners, owners, managers and lawyers for the businesses will be required to come to the meetings that have been rescheduled. The board will consider all applications at a special called meeting on June 13 at 9 a.m. The two violations will be added to the agenda of the next regular meeting on June 20 at 9 a.m.
