Kimball Man Arrested And Charged With Criminal Homicide

A joint investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Jasper Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the 12th Judicial District Drug Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a Kimball man on a homicide charge.

At the request of 12th District Attorney General J. Michael Taylor, on Saturday, TBI agents joined the investigation into a homicide in Jasper. The initial investigation determined that Timothy Matthew Shirley, 30, and Benjamin Desrosier, 35, were involved in an altercation outside a business in the 6400 block of Highway 41 in Jasper early Saturday morning, during which Desrosier fatally shot Shirley.

Desrosier was arrested Saturday on a charge of criminal homicide and booked into the Marion County Jail. His bond will be set during his initial court appearance scheduled for Monday.
