Cleveland State Volleyball Falls To Wallace State 3-0

Cleveland State Volleyball opened their season with a tough loss to nationally-ranked Wallace State, falling 3-0.

However, the Lady Cougars came out strong and fought hard throughout the game. They had a very tight first set with the Lady Lions. That set was tied 11 times and featured eight lead changes The Cougars fell 25-23 to the Lady Lions in the frame. They fell 25-17 and 25-15 in the other two sets.

In her debut, freshman Stephanie Burke led the team with six kills. Both freshman Cydney Brock and freshman Abbie Stinnett also had four kills.
The team was also strong serving as they posted nine aces.

The Cougars will be back in action on Monday as they travel to play Gadsden State Community College in Gadsden, Ala. Match time is set for 7:00 ET.
