The manager at the restaurant had yelled at them when they walked outside and Mr. Taylor stated he was scared the manager would hurt him, so he ran. Both Mr. Taylor and Ms. Hicken were then able to have Ms. Hicken's father pay the bill over the phone. Mr. Taylor and Ms. Hicken were then allowed to leave. Officers then spoke to the homeowners and they stated they heard someone trying to get into their house and when they looked on the ring doorbell monitor they saw a man standing on the porch with socks on his hands playing with the bbq grill and trying to turn the handle of the front door. The resident said they tried to talk to the man through the ring and, when they did, he began to play and eventually break the ring door bell. He said the man was unresponsive while they were trying to talk to him and just continued to stand on the front porch. Officers went next door and contacted the cousin who confirmed the man's story as far as knowing him and all that they did that day. He confirmed that he had a sleeping disorder and apologized for this. Both men said they would pay for the ring door monitor.
