Hazmat Unit Checks Out Possible Chemical Spill Across From Ross's Landing Park After Crane Collapse On Barge

A Hazmat unit was called out on Tuesday after a barge collapsed, sending a crane and a truck into the river at downtown Chattanooga.

Crews were checking for a possible chemical spill at the site near Manufacturers Road just across from Ross's Landing Park.

It was not immediately known whether any dangerous chemicals were involved.

The Chattanooga Fire Department was among agencies at the scene.
