Jobanie Martinez, 21, Arrested In Atlanta For Dalton Shooting On Aug. 18

Jobanie Martinez, who was wanted in connection with an Aug. 18th shooting that left two people with non-life threatening injuries, was arrested with assistance from the United States Marshals in the Atlanta area.

The incident happened at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, at a residence on Dozier Street in Dalton. Investigators believed that Martinez and the residents were associates and had been in some sort of a dispute. Investigators said that Martinez went to the residence shortly after 11 p.m. and after being there a short time, began shooting at the victims with a handgun. Martinez then fled from the house. The victims, a 21-year-old male and a 15-year-old male were taken to local hospitals.

He has been charged on warrants and is now in the Whitfield County Jail.
