Overton And Younger Marlar Take Victories Friday Night; World Of Outlaw Late Models Invade Tennessee Saturday

The World of Outlaws Late Model series returned to the region Friday night at Cherokee Speedway for a $10,000 Fall Opener that culminates Saturday in the Tennessee Valley.
 
Brandon Overton (#76) of Evans, Ga., held off Brandon Sheppard of Illinois and local standout Chris Madden Friday night. Kyle Strickler and Ross Bailes followed across the finish line.
Tennesseean Scott Bloomquist was 15th overall.
 
Saturday's race at 411 Motor Speedway outside of Gatlinburg will be broadcast live on DIRTVision Internet for subscribers. Race fans can witness the four-wide salute as well as the 50-lap feature live beginning at 7 p.m. EST in Seymour, Tn., on Saturday.

Cameron Marlar (#57M) of Winfield in West Tennessee took his career biggest Super Late Model victory Friday at Ponderosa Speedway in Kentucky worth $5,000. Zach Dohm of Virginia and Billy Moyer Jr of Arkansas followed, with older brother Mike Marlar finishing 4th just ahead of Justin Ratliff of Kentucky. Points leader Ryan King of Knoxville was 10th and Joey Standridge of Tellico Plains was 14th overall.
 
Saturday races take place at Sweetwater's I-75 Raceway between Chattanooga and Knoxville off Highway 68 and north of Chattanooga up Highway 27 in Dayton/Spring City at Mountain View Raceway.
