Home In Birchwood Damaged By Fire Saturday Morning

A home in Birchwood was damaged by fire Saturday morning.

A homeowner called 911 reporting a house fire at 10127 Birchwood Pike. At 7:40 a.m.

The  Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene reporting heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the home.

Once firefighters confirmed everyone was out of the house, they entered the home and conducted an interior attack and extinguished the fire quickly.  While extinguishing the fire, they rescued a cat without injury.

No injuries were reported, but HCEMS was on the scene for any potential injuries to the first responders.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and damages are listed at $95,000.
