Lester Doyle Burke, 89, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at a local nursing home.

He retired from Brach Candy as a long haul driver and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma J Dunn Burke; parents Vernon and Laura L. Orr Burke; sister, Leatha Silvers; and brothers, Donald Burke and Julian Burke Sr.

He is survived  by his sons, Dewayne (Melissa) Burke, Randy Burke, and Scott Burke; daughters, Carolyn (Tommy) Fine , Tammie (Bennett) Boynton and Sandra Burke; grandchildren, Christopher (Tammy) Burke, Matthew Burke, Mike McMillan, Jennifer (David) Zwakenberg and 5 great-grand children; sisters, George Faye Bishop and Virginia Jo Burch; brother Forrest Burke.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 5, at the Chapel of Devotion in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

His family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 5, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist- North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
