Free COVID-19 Testing Set For East Lake Community At Chattanooga Housing Authority

  • Friday, July 3, 2020
The Chattanooga Housing Authority will host COVID-19 testing for the East Lake community on Monday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.  The testing will be done in the community meeting room at East Lake Courts, 2600 4th Ave.

The testing is free and is not limited to residents of the Chattanooga Housing Authority only.

CHA Executive Director Betsy McCright said, “With the recent uptick in COVID cases in East Lake neighborhoods, we wanted to provide the opportunity for free testing for all of our neighbors, not just those in the CHA community.
The test results will be sent directly to the individuals.  The CHA will not have a record of the findings.”

The CHA has taken many precautions to keep their employees and those living within their communities safe during this time. As some of the phases of re-opening are occurring, visits to CHA offices are done by appointment only and CDC guidelines are strictly followed.

Ms. McCright noted, “We know that this virus may be with us for the foreseeable future.  Because of this, we’ve developed plans that will allow us to continue efforts for residents while keeping us as safe as possible.”
