World War II Veteran Retired From Chattanooga Coke And Chemical

Johnnie Lee Vaught was united with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 6, 2020.
 
He was born on Feb. 23, 1923, in Butler, Tn., to his parents, John M. Vaught and Willie Blanche Maxwell Vaught. Johnnie served as a Corporal in the Army Air Corps during World War II and later worked at Chattanooga Coke and Chemical where he retired after 29 years. 
 
 He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 52 years, Bobbie Ann Vaught, oldest son, PFC Johnnie L. Vaught Jr., parents, John and Willie Vaught, brothers, Thomas Bowman, Edward Vaught, Joseph Vaught, McKinley Vaught, Carl Vaught, Stanley Vaught, Jay Vaught, sisters, Callie Harden, Melvina Cunningham, Sallie Widby, Dora Mae Kendell, Mary Sterling, as well as grandchildren, Kirstin and Jamal Vaught.
 
 The family he leaves to cherish his memory are sons, Jackie Vaught and Terry (Cherie) Vaught, daughter, Wanda Copeland, brother, Loy (Laura) Vaught, and sister, Ella Vaught, 1grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
 
Visitation will be held on Wednesday Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. followed by interment at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
