Notre Dame's CJ Petrin Is 2021 DII Individual Boys Bowling Champ

Irish Kegler Rolled An 832 Qualifying Series To Nail Down Number One Seed

After a tough second place finish in last year’s Division II Individual State Bowling Championships, Notre Dame’s CJ Petrin took full advantage of his number one seed this year and emerged as the 2021 champion Friday at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tenn.

After rolling an 832 four game series in the qualifying round, the talented Irish senior and last season’s Bowler of the Year, simply awaited atop the ladder and the bested Briarcrest’s Brendan Donleavy 224 to 189 for the crown.

Boyd Buchanan’s Caleb Kelly finished third, besting Riley Martin of St. Benedict’s, 195-150, before losing to number two seed Donleavy 178-160.

On the girl’s lanes GPS' Molly Burnette finished sixth.

Walker Valley’s Jacob Brown went into the finals as the number one seed in the Division I boys tournament before eventually falling to number two seed Devean Littlejohn of Hardin Valley in the finals by a 238 to 197 pin count.
