Helen Elizabeth Hoover Burtnett, 89 of Ooltewah passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, in a local hospital. 

Helen was born on December 9, 1931, in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Ralph Hoover and Lilian (Lambert) Hoover Lester. Helen retired from Parkview Memorial Hospital in Brunswick, Maine as director of medical records. She was also a member of the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church. 

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Burtnett, daughter Dana Burtnett, and son Steven Burtnett. 

She is survived by her son, Douglas (Rae) Horton, and twin granddaughters Marie and Shannon Horton. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church, with Pastor David Ferguson officiating. A private burial for the family will follow at the Collegedale Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Helen’s honor to ADRA.org.
