James Lee
James M. Lee age, 83, of LaFayette, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Mr. Lee was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he served part of his time in Korea. He then worked for over 25 years at Barwick Mills and later retired from Pigeon Mountain Industries. Being an avid local history buff, he enjoyed telling stories of past time, and he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Billie Lee; daughter, Vickie (John) Henderson; sons, Marty Lee, and Jeff (Patty) Lee; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Raymond “BoBo” Lee, Harold “Pete” (Ava) Lee, and John Henry (Carol) Lee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Russell Swafford officiating.
Interment will be in LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Marty Lee, Jr., James Wright, Lonnie Gilreath, Thomas Ballew, Harley Ballew and Jackson Arnold.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
