Flora was born in Chattanooga, and graduated in the 1944 class of Central High School. Flora lived in Indiana for 17 years before settling back down in the Chattanooga area. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved taking care of her children and grandchildren. Flora enjoyed working at the Christmas Corner in St. Elmo, volunteering with Memorial Hospital, and working with her daughter-in-law at Eagle’s Uniforms. She was affectionately known as “Poodle” in her younger years and then “Memom” by her grandchildren. Flora was caring and honest, 5 feet tall and feisty but had a deep love for her family.

Flora was preceded in death by her husbands, Agnew Neal and Gene Ferguson; daughter, Ellen Jean Neal; daughter-in-law, Barbara Neal; parents, Charles and Mary Fransisco; and all eight of her siblings.

Survivors include her children, John A. Neal and Betsy (Kenan) Hill; grandchildren: Joseph (Luci) Neal, Jeanne (Jeremy) Cecil, Aaron Wilson, Annabel Hill, and John Hill; great grandchildren: Ava Cecil, Zoey Cecil, Elliott Cecil, and her namesake, Flora Neal; and many nieces and nephews.
