Merry Christmas, Chattanooga, From The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints

  • Thursday, December 23, 2021
In a brief message to the world, prophet and President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints states, Jesus Christ is “the true reason for the season.”

President Nelson said, "Jesus Christ was born to cast out all fear and bring everlasting light and joy to all who follow Him.  This is why we love to share the Light of Jesus Christ when so many around us are burdened with fear and uncertainty."

Considering all that we have experienced this last year and more, President Nelson encourages us to reach out and help others experience the Light of Christ.  “I invite you to make room in your heart for those around you who may be struggling to see the Light of the Savior and to feel His love.  No gifts will mean as much as acts of pure love you offer to the lonely, the worn down and the weary,” he said.

Stake president Jacob J.
Isaacson of the Chattanooga region of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said, “That’s the wonderful gift of Christmas – that we are invited to remember Jesus Christ.

“During Christmastime, we remember that Jesus Christ came to earth in humble circumstances to show us how much God loves all of us.  We remember that He came to show us how to make and keep covenants with God, how to reach out to the sick and poor in spirit, and how to sacrifice our own will for God's will.  We remember that He showed us how to love others – and ourselves – with perfect compassion.

“Jesus Christ suffered in Gethsemane to take upon Himself our sins, and allowed Himself to die on the cross so He could rise above death and hell. He can lift us up no matter how downtrodden we feel because in Gethsemane He descended lower than any of us, and He can raise us up at the last day because He rose up from the Garden Tomb.  Jesus Christ is the source and center of our faith, hope, and love. If we are focused on Jesus Christ, we can feel warmth inside even when it's cold outside.  May we remember Jesus Christ this Christmas and always. And may we Light the World with His love.”
