Cynthia Denise Magee Brogden, 65, peacefully departed this life on November 30, 2021, in Chattanooga, TN. 

Mrs. Cynthia Denise Magee Brogden, affectionately known to many as Denise or Nisey, was the oldest child of the Late Virginia Jo Moore Anderson and Hollis J. Anderson Sr. She was born on Sept. 29, 1956, in Detroit, Mi.

Denise joined the Hickory Flatt Missionary Church in Decatur, Tn., as a child under the leadership of Rev. Hurst. She maintained a lifelong membership at Hickory Flatt and was under the watch and care at Olivet Baptist Church in Chattanooga, for over 20 years. 

Denise graduated from Meigs County High School in Decatur, Tn., and after graduation, she attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Where she met her husband of 36 years, Franklin Shelton Brogden Sr. Together they had two children, Audrey Nicole Brogden, and Franklin Shelton Brogden Jr. 

For over 30 years, Denise served the community through Highland Cemetery taking pride in guiding people through some of the most difficult times of their lives and reuniting loved ones. She had a passion for politics and served as an election worker for every election big or small.  

Denise was an avid sports fan and loved her Detroit sports teams. She loved spending time with her family and close group of girlfriends. Her passions were loving and pouring into her tribes. She was a foodie, she loved trying the newest restaurants, cooking techniques, and going to any and every food festival. 

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Jo Anderson and Hollis J. Anderson Sr., and her brother, Hollis J. Anderson Jr.

Her memories will be cherished by husband Franklin S. Brogden Sr., Chattanooga; children, Audrey Nicole Brogden and Franklin Shelton Brogden Jr. of Chattanooga; brother, William Harold Magee of Detroit; a devoted cousin, Ruby Moore of Sweetwater, Tn.; lifelong best friends Cheryl Palmer of Macon, Ga., Rosemary Heard of Chattanooga, and Dr. Anita Polk Conley of Chattanooga; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, followed by a funeral service at noon in the funeral home chapel.
 
Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
