Avid Athlete Played Golf Well Into His 80s

James Ronald Durham, 91, of Chattanooga passed away at his home this week.

 

Born on Oct. 8, 1929, to the late Charles and Lorayne Durham, Mr. Durham was an alumna of Central High School and Chattanooga University.

 

Jim had a successful career in the moving business. Known as “The Rock” to friends and rivals alike, Jim was an avid athlete and played golf almost daily well into his 80s.

 

He was a member of GraceWorks  Church.

 

He is survived by his loving daughter, Catherine Durham.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
