The cast and crew from the new documentary film “Bigger Than Me” are in Chattanooga for a preview that will take place at the Welcome Center at Reflection Riding at 400 Garden Road on Thursday.
Bigger Than Me is a short 13-minute documentary that tells the story of Clark Brewer, an African American music artist from Chattanooga "who introduces his community to the outdoors despite the fact that they're the most underrepresented group in these spaces."
The public premiere event will take place on June 10.
Director Pablo Mazariegos said, “This film was produced during a time of crisis in our country and around the world.
It is close to my heart because it represents a healing pathway to the outdoors.”
Clark Brewer in the film "describes being told that the outdoors is 'white people stuff,' a concept that he said he cannot accept. Despite a heartbreaking setback during the planning process, Brewer pushes forward with a powerful program to introduce African Americans to outdoor activities."
