Another Round Of City Hall Nonsense

  • Sunday, August 24, 2025

I’m done with Tim Kelly and his staff lying to the people of Chattanooga. Every time they open their mouths, it’s the same nonsense: “Raise taxes, or city services will be cut.”

What a joke. The budget isn’t shrinking - it’s ballooning. Anyone paying attention can see that. I’ve been around long enough to know a con when I see one.

When my bills go up, I tighten my belt. I make tough choices. I live within my means. City Hall? They come running with their hands out, waving fear in our faces, hoping we’ll just fork over more money without thinking. I’ve managed a household, paid taxes, and balanced a checkbook for decades. I know the difference between living within your means and plain old waste.

And here’s the kicker: while they’re whining about imaginary cuts, City Hall is busy wasting time and money responding to opinion pieces on the Chattanoogan. That’s right - our tax dollars are going toward defending the mayor’s fragile ego instead of repairing roads, supporting police, or protecting neighborhoods. It’s not just wasteful - it’s embarrassing, insulting, and shows exactly where their priorities lie.

I’ve seen city governments come and go, and I’ll tell you: Chattanooga deserves better. We’re not fools. We see the difference between real cuts and a record-high budget. Stop the lies. Stop the fear-mongering. Stop treating taxpayers like we can’t do simple math. We’ve had enough of spin, ego, and theatrics. It’s time for honesty, integrity, and leadership - not another round of scare tactics from City Hall.
