This past Friday evening the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation hosted its seventh annual American Heroes Dinner with guest speaker Marcus Luttrell.
According to foundation representative Catherine Smith, “After coming off 2020, with no opportunity to hold our major fundraising events, we were thrilled with the support of the Chattanooga community at this sold-out event.”
The evening included a narrative told by the speaker as he recounted valuable lessons from his early years and subsequent experiences as a Navy Seal.
Others participating in the program were members of the wounded-warrior community who have been helped by this all-volunteer organization.
Mr. Luttrell’s #1 New York Times best-selling book, Lone Survivor, tells the harrowing story of four Navy SEALs, of SEAL Team 10, who journeyed into the mountainous border of Afghanistan and Pakistan on Operation Red Wing. An unparalleled motivational story of survival, the book is also a moving tribute to the friends and teammates who did not make it off the mountain. A powerful testament to the courage, integrity, patriotism, and community that forged these American heroes, Lone Survivor is an incredible account of teamwork, fortitude, and modern warfare.
The event celebrated American heroes, many in attendance whose life-altering injuries the foundation is committed to assisting. To learn more about Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation or to get involved, go to www.honoringthesacrifice.org.
