“Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant!” (Matthew 25:21).  Glenda Faye “Faydie” Walls was called to her heavenly home on July 19, 2021.

She was born on July 11, 1951, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Jimmie and Geneva Walls.  Glenda’s soul was anchored in the Lord throughout her life and one of her many favorite scriptures is Psalm 23.  She was predeceased by her parents and devoted sisters, Emma Walls Price and Louise (Charles) Southall.

After graduating with honors in 1969 from Howard High School, Glenda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee State University.  She furthered her education, earning a Master’s Degree of Ministry in Christian Counseling from Covington Theological Seminary.  Walls, as she is affectionately called by her colleagues, retired from the Hamilton County School System after dedicating thirty years of service as an elementary school teacher to Chattanooga City and Hamilton County Schools.  Her legacy in the classroom is one of excellence in teaching with kindness and compassion.  Ms. Walls truly loved her students and was known for inspiring young minds and enriching the lives of generations of students that she taught at Orchard Knob, Rivermont, Clara Carpenter and Calvin Donaldson Elementary Schools.

Glenda accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Washington Hills where she continued her love for teaching as a Sunday School Teacher.  All who knew and loved Glenda Faye will miss her quiet spirit and beautiful smile.  Family and friends will dearly miss the love and fun times shared with Faydie, especially her laughter, jokes and delicious turnip greens.

Aunt Faydie as Glenda Faye is affectionately called by her nieces and nephews leaves a loving family who will cherish her memory, especially her brothers, Jimmie Walls III and John Wesley Walls, devoted nieces who she helped raise, Nicelle Price Gray, Kimberly (William) Spears and their children, Ataya NiCelle Spears, Price Kenai Gray and Evan W. Spears, nephew and nieces who she was raised with like siblings, Charles Southall, Jr., Linda S. Eubanks and Constance S. Williams, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.

Thank You to the one and only Glenda Faye Walls for loving us unconditionally and being a Beautiful Godly example of Christian Faith and Service.  Well Done Aunt Faydie!  On Christ the Solid Rock we will forever stand, carrying your perpetual light of love in our hearts forever.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 29, from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home, 3417 Wilcox Blvd. Chattanooga, Tn. 37411.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Bullard of First Baptist Church of Washington Hills as the eulogist. The service will be live-streamed on the Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga Facebook Page.

Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens East, 4621 Shallowford Road Chattanooga, Tn. 37411.
