Mildred Lucille Smith, 93, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late Hubert and Virginia Cottingham and was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin “Ed” E. Smith.

Mildred served as a volunteer church secretary at the former Lake Vista United Methodist Church and was a current member of St. John United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Brad Smith, of Chattanooga, TN, brother, Hugh Cottingham, Jr. (June), of Baypoint, FL, and two nieces, Sharon A. Carter, of Vestavia Hills, AL and Julie C. Tharpe, of Inverness, AL.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at the funeral home.
