Steven Lee Dawson, 69, of Hixson, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022.

 

After a six-year stent in the U.S. Army, he worked many years for the Chattanooga Paper Board Corporation and later retired from Allegra Printing.  He had been an active member of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga and the Hoback Sunday School class.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie (Muse) Dawson, his father, Garlen Dawson and his brother, Donald Gerald.

 

He is survived and greatly missed by his mother, Chris, sister Susan (Tim) White, sister-in-law, Terrie Ann (David) Flewellen, nieces, Caroline Flewellen, Katelyn (Chris) Leahy, and great niece, Mia Leahy.

 

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, with Reverend Thomas Quisenberry officiating at National Cemetery with military honors. 

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, McKamey Animal Hospital, Chattanooga Humane Society, Chattanooga Food Bank or Parkinson’s Research.
