Dr. Sindy Reynolds Named Vice President Of Finance And Operations At CSCC

Cleveland State Community College announces that long-time employee, Dr. Sindy Reynolds, is the new vice president for Finance and Operations. A Cleveland State alumna, Dr. Reynolds has served the college as bursar since 2014.

With more than 20 years of experience in the public and private sector, Dr. Reynolds has worked in accounting, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, fixed asset management and facilities and project management. Dr. Reynolds began her career in higher education as coordinator of student accounts at Cleveland State and transferred to Roane State as bursar before returning to Cleveland State.
In addition to her administrative position, Dr. Reynolds has been an adjunct instructor at Cleveland State since 2016, teaching First Year Seminar classes.

“I am excited about this new chapter at Cleveland State,” Dr. Reynolds said. “Dr. Stone has a finger on the pulse of the future of higher education. It is going to be a privilege to work with her and the CSCC community to position us for excellence.”

The vice president for Finance and Operations manages institutional accounting and financial services, budget and planning, facilities planning, contract services, procurement and information technology.

Cleveland State President Dr. Ty Stone said, “Since serving as interim vice president of Operations along with her current position as bursar, Dr. Reynolds has demonstrated her ability to think strategically about complex issues and develop innovative solutions. Her overall knowledge, experience, professionalism and engaging personality make Dr. Reynolds an asset to Cleveland State. I look forward to working with her as we serve our students and our communities.”

After graduating from Cleveland State, Dr. Reynolds received her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan, a master’s degree from Austin Peay State University, a graduate certificate in community college leadership from East Tennessee State University and a doctorate of education from East Tennessee State University.

Dr. Reynolds said, “I’d like to thank Dr. Stone, the hiring committee and TBR for this opportunity. I’m rarely rendered speechless, but I am humbled by their support and confidence in me. It is truly a blessing to work and grow with my Cleveland State colleagues. I’m excited about Cleveland State’s future, and all I can say is, ‘Watch us work!’”

Originally from Alpharetta, Ga., Dr. Reynolds lives in Sweetwater with her husband, Dewayne, who is captain of the Sweetwater Fire Department. They are empty nesters and enjoy traveling with their blended family. They have two daughters and a son: Brittany White and her husband, Travis, Brittany Huskey and her husband, Brent, and Kody Woodall and long-time girlfriend, Grace Brunner.
