Benita Yvette Talley was born on December 7, 1966, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Hay ward and Olivia Moore Talley. She transitioned from this world on December 1, 2022, at her residence in Stone Mountain, Georgia, surrounded by her family.

Benita accepted Christ at an early age and attended Kirkman Technical High School. After Kirkman, Benita was employed by Republic Parking, NHC, The Tennessee Aquarium, The Chattanooga Bakery and Amazon. Benita relocated to Stone Mountain, Georgia in 2017, where she was most recently employed by Mcdonald's. She was a hard worker who truly loved her family.

In addition to her parents, father, Haywood Talley, and mother, Olivia Moore Talley, Benita was preceded in death by her siblings, Deborah Carter, Brenda Talley, Gregory Carter and Michael Talley; uncles, Palmer Talley and Max Talley and auntie, Emma Jo Hale.

Benita leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, LaQuada Benn, and son, Cedric Freeman, both of Chattanooga; a loving niece, Tranika (Stephen Thorpe) Carter of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one sister, Robin Bledsoe of Chattanooga; one step-sister, ConSandra Leathers of Fayetteville, N.C.; one brother, Rickey Talley of Chattanooga; two aunties, Eunicestine Talley-Foy of New Orleans, and Kathryn Talley-Garner of Lithonia, Ga.; one uncle, John (Ann) Talley of Decatur, Ga.; six grandchildren, Lakeriana Walker, Malik Walker, Na’Quann Lay, Marcellus Freeman, Mah’Liya Freeman and Taylor Freeman; three great-grandchildren, Zikia Walker, D’onte Walker and Malik Walker, JR.; two god-children, Nitia Jessup and Montchello Jessup; two devoted cousins, Kimberly Talley and Karen Hale-Thompson, both of Chattanooga; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.

Public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home.

A 12 p.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 423 622-9995.

Interment will be in Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.
