Despite threatening skies from Mother Nature, Penton Motor Speedway forged ahead with Friday's United Championship Racing Alliance 604/Crate Late Model: Red Line Bama Duals 2 showdown presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil.

Hometrack racer Chase Edge didn't disappoint, grabbing the lead from Jake Traylor early and taking the field to the checkers, to earn a $3,000 payday.

Dylan Knowles of Lynette, Al. kept the "Knotts Towing, Edges Gas & Go, Jeff Dodger Logging" sponsored leader in his sights but could not pull off the pass. Traylor of La Grange, Ga., is a previous winner with the UCRA City/Columbus on the Alabama/Georgia border Saturday for the second RLBD's event. If Edgie can pull off another victory he'll earn an additional $1,000 for his efforts.

Cody Overton of Evans, Ga. was fourth and Braxtin Barber of Valley, Al. was fifth overall. Current reigning, defending UCRA champion and points leader Kenny Kizzar of Sale Creek rallied from 11th to finish 6th respectfully.

The series heads to East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City/Columbus on the Alabama/Georgia border for another 1,000, 50 lap, $3,000 to win race. If Edge can pull off another victory Saturday he'll earn a $1,000 bonus.
