Mark E. Makemson, 70, of Chattanooga, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

Born in Springfield, Il., Mark attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School and graduated from Brainerd High School. He studied business management at UTC then worked as a sales representative for 24 years at BFI Solid Waste Services. 

Mark was a member of St. Stephens Church and The Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Irene Makemson; brothers, Paul and Larry and a sister Nancy Phillips.

He is survived by his sister, Theresa Silegren (Vesa); brother, David Makemson (Jim Smart); sister-in-law, Sherry Makemson, son, Jim Makemson (Ashley); daughter, Judi Jacobs (Grayson); granddaughters, Ansleigh and Poppy, and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 7111 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
