Serena Wednesday Smith, 23, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Serena was a beautiful, intelligent, determined young woman. She was a kind soul and cherished friend to many. To know her was to love her.

She attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville where she graduated this past May with a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. While in college she put her brilliant mind to use working as a Creative Balloon Artist making stunning backdrops for special occasions. She was a member of the Argonia Cup Rocket Design Team and of the AIAA Design, Build, Fly Team that competed in Kansas this past April.

She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Ross; twin brother Darian Smith (Liz) and younger brother Van Sigman; maternal grandparents, William and Norma Ross; maternal great grandmother, Carolyn Strange; aunt, Elizabeth Towles (Louis), cousin, Ada Towles and her brother’s father, Justin Sigman, who was a father figure.
