Employees from BASF’s sites in Chattanooga participated in a 40-hour confined space rescue training class, allowing the site to form its own response team. After acquiring the required equipment, the BASF team was led by Emergency Response Services through four days of training on how to perform multiple types of rescues.
The training included a variety of equipment and techniques used to stabilize and extract an injured person from a confined space. The class also learned how to perform an elevated extraction of an injured person using ropes, pulleys and a stretcher to secure injured people.
