Todd Willeman entered a 0-0 game in the bottom of the third inning on Friday night and proceeded to toss six shutout innings to help lead the Chattanooga Lookouts to a 1-0 win over the first place Birmingham Barons.
Willeman followed starter Jose Acuna who went two scoreless innings and was followed by a typically perfect night from Trevor Kuncl who earned his 15th save. Willeman now sits at three wins and one loss on the season with a 2.40 earned run average. The three pitchers combined to allow six hits with three strikeouts and no walks.
In the top of the fourth inning designated hitter Ruben Ibarra started a rally with a two out single. Ethan O'Donnell then moved him around to third with a double to right field. With Austin Callahan at the plate, Ruben Ibarra then scored on a balk from pitcher Martin Perez for the lone run of the game. Ibarra had two of the team's six hits on top of scoring the lone run.
