The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped a second straight game to the first place Birmingham Barons on Wednesday night this time falling 4-2. Starting pitcher Ryan Cardona took the loss and falls to 5-5 on the season. He allowed all four runs in five innings giving up seven hits in five innings.
Catcher Connor Burns collected two of the Lookouts five hits going 2-3 with a double. Shortstop Edwin Arroyo smacked his third triple of the season and scored a run. One of the Reds top prospects, Arroyo is now hitting .280 on the season.
The two teams were tied 2-2 in the fifth when the Barons scored the deciding two runs on an RBI triple from Sam Antonacci and a Ryan Gallanie ground out. Five Barons pitchers combined to strike out twelve Lookouts' hitters. Chattanooga was unable to capitalize offensively despite drawing eight walks on the night. They left eight runners on base.
The third game of the series will be Thursday night at 8 p.m. est in Birmingham.
