The Chattanooga Housing Authority has rental units available in Mary Walker Towers, one of several apartment buildings serving low-income individuals and families.
Mary Walker Towers is currently home to 137 residents, with eight units available for rent (some immediate availability for those age 62+). The property is a great choice for low-income seniors, as it is located directly on the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) bus route, giving residents easy access to various locations, said officials. A resident council and on-site senior service case manager coordinates events and connects residents with community resources.
All exterior doors of Mary Walker Towers are accessible via key fobs given to residents at move-in. The key fobs also allow access to on-site laundry, a pool table and gated parking.
TENANT ELIGIBILITY:
• Must be background eligible and not have been evicted from housing in the past five years
• Individuals and couples welcome to apply for a unit
• A single person’s income cannot be more than $53,500 per year
• All ages are welcome, but preference is given to those age 62+
Those interested in renting a unit can apply for housing at chahousing.org, or a paper application can be picked up at Mary Walker Towers. Completed paper applications must be dropped off at Mary Walker Towers for processing.
