Daniel Lunt, the new principal of Hixson High School, as the featured speaker at the Friends of Hixson Coffee Meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 8 a.m. at Clear Creek Church of Christ.
Mr. Lunt recently assumed the leadership role at Hixson High and demonstrates a strong commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and community collaboration, said officials.
Mr. Lunt and his wife Wendy said they are excited to be in Tennessee, which brings them closer to many of their children and grandchildren. The Lunts’ oldest, Hanna, works as a nurse in Texas and plans to move with her husband and daughter to Chattanooga next year. Emily, one of their twin daughters, lives with her husband and daughter in Fredericksburg. Her twin sister, Elizabeth, is a Marine who just returned to North Carolina after a six-month deployment in the Middle East. Their youngest daughter, Samantha, also lives in North Carolina and works for the school system there as an educational assistant. Wendy will be a substitute teacher this year for Hamilton County schools. Their son, Joshua, will start 9th grade at Hixson this year.
Mr. Lunt said that as he reflects on this stage of his career, he feels truly blessed to be a part of the Hixson community. He mentioned that everyone has been very welcoming, which made the transition smoother, and he was greatly impressed by the achievements of our Hixson students. These accomplishments are made possible by the hard work, dedication, and support of every member of the Hixson staff and community.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from Mr. Lunt about his vision for the school, his goals for the upcoming year, and how the larger Hixson community can help support student success. This will be a chance to meet Principal Lunt, ask questions, and learn more about Hixson High School's future.
