Law enforcement, Education, Academics and Fitness Academy celebrated its 32nd graduation of the program.
Those in attendance saw the graduation of 13 cadets who successfully completed the intensive six-week program.
The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of the LEAF Academy's summer 2025 session, a program designed to develop and promote personal growth among its participants.
Shepherding the program since its inception, Nancy Stanfield, the Juvenile Court youth service officer for Cleveland High School, announced her retirement from running the program.
Mrs. Stanfield has been the face of the program since day one, and she leaves a legacy of hundreds of Bradley County children that have successfully completed the program under her watch.
The event was attended by a number of distinguished community leaders, highlighting the program’s importance and the community’s support, officials said.
Among those present were:
• Sheriff Steve Lawson;
• Chief of Police Mark Gibson;
• County Commissioner and Chair of the Finance Committee Milan Blake;
• County Commissioner and Chair of the Juvenile Committee Scotty Gilbert;
• Public Defender Leon Shahan;
• Assistant Public Defender John Fortuno; and
• Bently Thomas, representing the Office of Mayor Gary Davis
